JOHOR BARU: Johor Local Government, Science and Technology Committee chairman Tan Hon Ping has confirmed that he is one of the two state executive councillors that have been dropped.
“Yes, I have been dropped from the state executive council and I will leave it to the party," said Tan.Tan was among the few state executive councillors who was absent when Dr Sahruddin officially started his duty as the new Mentri Besar.
Besides Tan, those that did not attend the ceremony included Johor Parti Amanah Negara chairman Aminolhuda Hassan, who is the state Islamic Affairs and Education Committee chairman; state Public Works, Infrastructure and Transportation Committee chairman Mazlan Bujang; and Information, Cooperatives, Entrepreneurship Development and Creative Economy chairman Sheikh Umar Bagharib Ali.“I am still the Skudai assemblyman and I will continue to serve my constituency.
"Everything will be revealed in the next couple of days or by this week, as I am still reviewing the ideal assemblymen to be part of the team. "I need someone who I am comfortable working with," he said when met after officiating the flag-off ceremony of Tour De Iskandar Johor 2019 at Kota Iskandar here on Wednesday .Presently, there are 10 state executive councillors, including four from DAP and two each from Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia, Parti Amanah Negara and PKR.
Dr Sahruddin was the state Health, Environment and Agriculture committee chairman during the 11-month administration of Datuk Osman Sapian, whom he replaced as Mentri Besar.
