Human Resources Minister V. Sivakumar has been summoned to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) office to assist its investigations into allegations of corruption involving the recruitment of foreign workers. Read more at
Sources said Sivakumar is believed to have arrived at the MACC office at around 10am on Sunday , reported Sinar Harian."He came to help with the investigation carried out by the MACC after the arrest of three individuals including two of his officers last week," he said briefly.
On Thursday, MACC chief commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki confirmed that Sivakumar's private secretary was arrested. The arrest of the minister's private secretary was carried out by the MACC at about 2.30am after a special officer to Sivakumar was arrested earlier.The senior officer was believed to be a former leader in the state DAP Socialist Youth.
The two suspects, aged between 40 and 50, were picked up at the KLIA around 1am upon their arrival from Bangkok, Thailand.Former human resources minister M. Kulasegaran said Sivakumar’s aide, who had been detained, did not work under him when he was holding the post in 2018.
