A large sinkhole in the middle of an Adelaide street is believed to have been caused by a break in the sewer main, causing a malodorous mess to flood into surrounding properties.

abc.net.au/news/sinkhole-stink-as-sewage-floods-camden-park-properties/102826232A large sinkhole and pipe rupture have caused a malodorous mess in a suburban Adelaide street, flooding surrounding properties with raw sewage.Several properties are relying on tankers to supply them with waterThe incident has left several locals on Mooringe Avenue at Camden Park not only without mains drinking water, but facing the unpleasant task of waiting for their properties to be cleaned and disinfected.

SA Water crews arrived at the site about 11:30am on Wednesday, and the road remains closed while work to access the rupture and fix the pipe is ongoing. But Mr Forbes thanked SA Water for its assistance with the clean-up, saying contractors were helping to disinfect the business. Several properties remain disconnected from the mains, and are being supplied with drinking water from three tankers.
