A 29-year-old Singaporean man, Barath Gopal, was fined SGD4,000 for forging a death certificate to obtain compassionate leave from his previous job after his girlfriend cheated on him. Despite having sufficient annual leave, Gopal fabricated the death of his grandfather and used a friend's death certificate to create a forgery.

A Singaporean man was fined SGD4,000 after he pleaded guilty to 1 count of forging a death certificate with the intent to commit fraud.

Despite having more than 4 days of annual leave available, the man decided to lie to his supervisor that his grandfather had passed away and asked for paid compassionate leave.
