Michael Garing was executed at Changi Prison this morning, the second Malaysian to be sent to the gallows in Singapore.
PETALING JAYA: Singapore today executed Sarawakian Michael Garing, the second Malaysian to be sent to the gallows in the city-state after Prabu N Pathmanathan last October.Garing had been part of a gang involved in a robbery in Singapore in May 2010, which led to the death of construction worker Shanmuganathan Dillidurai. Three others were severely injured in the incident.
His execution drew condemnation from rights activists, who also claimed that confessions obtained against Prabu were made under duress.
