PETALING JAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim has instructed Human Resources Minister Steven Sim to look into the concerns of various stakeholders regarding the proposed Gig Workers Bill.
“The feedback and opinions from all parties were noted, and the Prime Minister instructed the Human Resources Minister to look into them before the draft is presented again to the Cabinet meeting. Earlier, gig economy companies requested the Human Resources Ministry further refine the Gig Workers Bill 2025, which will protect the welfare of gig workers, claiming that it might not achieve its intended objectives.
The Bill was supposed to be tabled last year, but it was postponed due to claims of a lack of consultation sessions with stakeholders.
