Silent Hill 2 Remake Has Already Sold Over A Million Copies

The well-reviewed remaster is likely the fastest-selling Silent Hill game in the franchise's history

Konami and Bloober Team ’s fancy remake of survival horror classic Silent Hill 2 appears to be a big hit, with the new game selling over a million copies in less than a week. Finally, fans have some good news after years of not-great sequels and poor management of the franchise. Silent Hill 2 was released on October 6 via a pre-order early access period on PS5 and PC.

It’s also only three days after it launched for everyone else on October 8. In other words, it didn’t take long for this new horror remake to hit the million copies sold milestone. In fact, according to Daniel Ahmad, director of research & insights at Niko Partners, this is much, much faster than the original Silent Hill 2. That 2001 PS2 game took a month to reach a million.
