Two aircraft have collided mid-air over an airfield north of Brisbane, with multiple emergency services currently at the scene.

Aerial footage from the scene showed debris scattered across a field, with one plane severely damaged from the force of the impact.Caboolture Airfield is located about 55 kilometres north of Brisbane, and popular site for general aviation and ultralight aircraft. In November last year, two men died in a horror aircraft tragedy at Kybong near Gympie, about 150 kilometres north of Brisbane.

The crash claimed the lives of a 77-year-old man and 80-year-old veteran pilot after their light planes collided mid-air and crashed into a paddock.
