Sigma has announced two new primes that bolster its lineup of wide-angle options for full-frame Sony E-mount and Leica L-Mount cameras: the 24mm f/1.4 DG DN Art and the 20mm f/1.4 DG DN Art.

The 20mm f/1.4 DG DN Art is a full-frame, wide-angle prime lens designed exclusively for mirrorless cameras. Sigma says it is the first and only lens of this specification that is available for full-frame prime lenses that has been specifically designed for mirrorless, but does join its 20mm f/1.4 DG HSM Art in speed and focal length.

Sigma says the lens offers superb optical clarity from corner to corner, outstanding build quality with a dust and splash-resistant structure, and is designed to support astrophotography through optimized performance. On that last note, Sigma says the lens “rigorously” suppresses various optical aberrations such as sagittal coma flare and image distortion to produce highly-detailed images with exceptional sharpness and accuracy from the center to the corners.

It features a new Manual Focus Lock switch that turns off the focus ring, which Sigma says makes it easier to concentrate on the shoot without worrying about accidentally changing the focusing distance. The optic is constructed of 17 elements in 14 groups including two FLD, one SLD, and four aspherical lenses. It features an aperture range of f/1.4 through f/16 via an 11-bladed diaphragm. The lens weighs 520 grams , has a minimum focusing distance of 9.9 inches, is dust and splash resistant, and is compatible with Sigma’s USB dock. The 20mm f/1.4 is also compatible with Sony’s AF assist function as well as lens aberration correction found on select cameras.
