KUALA LUMPUR: With Emergency ordinances now revoked, Ahmad Lai Bujang (GPS-Sibuti) is pleading for the Sarawak state elections to be postponed.

Ahmad said he is concerned that a state election could be called within 60 days.

Ahmad was speaking after Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin had briefed the House about the National Recovery Plan on Monday . Earlier Monday, Minister in the Prime Minister's Department Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan said the government had revoked the Emergency ordinances on July 21 and had no plans to advise the King to extend the nationwide state of emergency beyond Aug 1.
