KOTA KINABALU: Sabah's different cultures and history were showcased at the state's National Day celebrations here on Saturday (Aug 31).
The parade which began at 7.30am showcased vehicles and bicycles used in previous decades as well as the first parade of the Tambadau, Sabah's football team.
Sabah head of state Tun Juhar Mahiruddin was present at the event along with Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Seri Mohd Shafie Apdal, state-level National Day celebration chairman Datuk Peter Anthony, state speaker Datuk Syed Abas Syed Ali, their spouses, state ministers and assistant ministers. The Sabah Girl Scouts, Kota Kinabalu Tailoring Academy and Papar Sea Scouts were named first, second and third place winners for the non-governmental and associations category.
