The 25-year-old woman was shot while in her home near Summit Lake, police say.
AKRON, Ohio — A 25-year-old woman was critically wounded late Monday night after a bullet fired from across Summit Lake went through the window of her home and hit her in the head, police say.
Officers were called to the home on the 1600 block of Summit Lake Boulevard just before midnight Monday, police say. There they found the victim with an apparent gunshot wound to the head. Investigators say a bullet hole was found in the glass of a front-facing window in the house. They then found found 9mm casings on a boat dock by the Summit Lake Community Center, which is across the lake from the victim’s house.
Police say the preliminary investigation indicates an unknown person fired from across the lake and bullet went into the home, hitting the victim.Anyone with information can call detectives at 330-375-2490 or Summit County Crimestoppers at 330-434-COPS.
