Shopee Malaysia concluded its second Digital Platform Upskilling Summit, empowering over 1,000 local sellers with essential regulatory knowledge through a five-part programme. The summit addressed compliance, product authenticity, and consumer trust, collaborating with key government agencies to align with the government's efforts to empower MSMEs and gig workers.

The first series introduced sellers to aspects of regulator compliance whereby experts provided insights on business registration, product certification, intellectual property, and beauty product regulations, while the second series delved into food advertising laws, pricing, counterfeit goods regulations, and Halal certification.
Meanwhile, Badruzzaman bin Abdul Rahim from the Ministry of Health's Food Safety and Quality Department highlighted the summit's educational value:"This programme is an excellent platform for Shopee sellers to gain a deeper understanding of food advertising regulations. It’s crucial that product labels and advertisements align with our laws. This session equips sellers with the knowledge they need to comply confidently, fostering a responsible and trustworthy marketplace.
Sellers who attended the summit shared their thoughts on the programme. Bibi Farizona Mahdi, owner of Umairah Homemade Cakes on Shopee, remarked,"This programme has been useful for understanding government regulations. The insights we gained are essential for navigating compliance and driving our business forward.
