A man in Sarawak conducts a social experiment to see how people react to dropped money, revealing contrasting responses.
Recently, a man from Sarawak named Daus went viral on social media for conducting a social experiment at a shopping mall in Kuching. Daus dropped a RM50 bank note in the middle of the mall to see how people would react if they saw someone else's valuable item fall in front of them. In a video uploaded to his TikTok account (@firdausjaidil), Daus held the RM50 note before intentionally dropping it as he walked towards a store.
A man walking with his wife and children, apparently, picked up the RM50 note. Although the man knew the money belonged to Daus, he pocketed it in front of his children and walked away. This action is clearly not acceptable, as the money was not his and using it would be haram in Islam. However, it is unclear if the man returned the money when he was not being filmed. A similar social experiment was conducted on other individuals, with different results. One man wearing a hat quickly picked up the dropped money and returned it. After learning it was just an experiment, the man in the hat refused the reward Daus offered
