A 59-year-old cyclist is in hospital after being struck by a driver who appeared to intentionally swerve into him in a shocking hit-and-run incident during the early hours of Thursday morning.
A 59-year-old man from Pakenham was riding on Douglas Street in Noble Park about 6.40am on Thursday alongside a white Mitsubishi Lancer.
In footage captured by another car on the road, the cyclist was seen flying off his bike and hitting the ground hard. The cyclist, who was dressed in spandex and donned a red helmet, was seen bent over on the ground following the shock collision. They also shared an image of the man's destroyed bike, which showed the back tyre completely destroyed.
