Shane Lowry finished sixth at Royal Troon on Sunday
Shane Lowry pocketed €562,000 for finishing sixth at The Open as Xander Schauffele took home a massive cheque for €2,850,000 for lifting the Claret Jug.

But he struggled for birdies as a number of his putts narrowly missed, with a bogey on the par-four 11th coming between pars on the 10th, 12th, 13th, 14th and 15th, which a 31 foot birdie putt just came up short. He then missed a six-footer for birdie on the 16th as he parred again. "I had a great chance of winning this Open, and it's going to hurt for a few days. But onwards and upwards and onto the Olympics and try to win a medal for Ireland and get on from there then."
