Ronan Finn will join goalkeeper Alan Mannus on Friday night by playing his final game for Shamrock Rovers.
The Shamrock Rovers midfielder began his senior career with the Students, before moving to Sporting Fingal in 2009 and then to Rovers, Dundalk and back to the Hoops in 2017.
“I looked at the courses and liked the course. It’s a two-year part-time course which gives me the opportunity that I’m not under intense pressure because I know how difficult a Masters is. “The offer was there. I spoke to the manager knowing the offer was already in place,” said the Dubliner. “To be honest, when we spoke he was definitely surprised, but absolutely respectful.
He added: “I’ve always been interested in going back to college anyway, but never knew when I could fit it in and when could you do it. This has kind of fallen into place.
