The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) will only allow the sale of fireworks and firecrackers at four designated Ramadan bazaars this year, citing public safety concerns. Vendors operating at the bazaars are required to adhere to specific safety guidelines and operate only in approved areas.
The Shah Alam City Council (MBSA) has announced that it will only permit the sale of fireworks and firecrackers at four designated Ramadan bazaars within its jurisdiction this year. Shah Alam Mayor Datuk Mohd Fauzi Mohd Yatim stated that a total of 20 licenses have been issued for this purpose, with five licenses allocated to each of the bazaars located in Sections 13, 17, 19, and 20. Vendors are strictly required to operate within designated areas approved by the MBSA.
This decision follows the Ipoh City Council's recent announcement prohibiting the sale of firecrackers and fireworks at all Ramadan bazaars under its control, citing public safety concerns.Mohd Fauzi also confirmed that the Shah Alam Stadium Ramadan bazaar will continue to operate as usual throughout the fasting month, including in the designated stadium parking area. He assured the public that despite the ongoing demolition of the Shah Alam Stadium, there are no safety risks associated with the dismantling process for either traders or visitors. 'The bazaar will be opened as usual and the number of traders on our list this year remains the same as in previous years,” he stated. The Shah Alam City Council encourages members of the public to comply with safety regulations and enjoy the festivities responsibly during Ramadan
