A SENIOR Sarawak leader has said Dr Mahathir Mohamad had nominated Sabah Chief Minister Mohd Shafie Apdal as Pakatan Harapan’s prime minister candidate to deny Anwar Ibrahim the post. Talking to the New Straits Times, Sarawak Deputy Chief Minister James Masing believed that Shafie’s candidacy is orchestrated by Dr Mahathir to deny Anwar the prime minister’s post if PH comes into power in the next general election or in the event of snap polls.
