The hearing was put on hold after Star solicitors released documents to the inquiry related to its former CFO, Christina Katsibouba.
The head of an independent inquiry into Star Entertainment is demanding an explanation for the late release of a trove of documents related to its former chief financial officer, warning it could be in breach of the Royal Commissions Act.
Adam Bell, SC, has adjourned the hearing after a trove of documents related to the former CFO were released. She also claimed she was asked to alter the books to make the company’s finances appear healthier after a $3.2 million loss caused by a so-called ticket-in, cash-out terminal where punters collect their winnings.
“I will now need to adjourn this hearing at considerable expense to all concerned … so that counsel assisting have a reasonable opportunity to assess these documents and the effect that might bear on the termination of Ms Katsibouba.”
