'We are veering toward a public health mess of uncontrolled monkeypox spread in our community and many other communities,' said State Senator Scott Wiener

Despite the White House's announcement on monkeypox vaccine distribution frustration is growing in San Francisco over the government's response.And as many as 800,000 of them may arrive as soon as the end of this month.

Doctors say the longer the current outbreak goes untreated, the more likely the disease will spread to the general population. "I think many people don't think that will happen. But if we don't nip it in the bud right now, there is that possibility," said infectious disease expert, Dr. Peter Chin-Hong.
