Check to see if your city's Veterans Day events have been canceled due to severe weather.

TEXAS — Friday is Veterans Day and cities across the Lone Star State have set up events throughout the weekend to honor the veterans in the community. However, due to the severe cold front expected to sweep through the state Friday, some of those events had to be canceled. Here’s what is going on this weekend.

Austin canceled its Veterans Day Parade that was supposed to take place downtown on Friday from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. The City of Killeen also canceled its Veterans Day Parade scheduled for Friday due to threat of severe weather. The event will not be rescheduled. As of Friday morning, San Antonio’s Veterans Day Parade, scheduled to take place on Saturday, Nov. 12 throughout downtown, is still happening.November is National Veterans and Military Families Month: Here are some ways to honor them

Also as of Friday morning, Dallas’ Veterans Day parade, with the theme “Proud to be an American” is still scheduled to commence at 11 a.m. on Friday. There will be an Oath of Enlistment by more than 150 men and women representing all services at 10:50 a.m. in front of City Hall.
