GEORGE TOWN: Several roads around the northeast and southwest districts here will be closed in stages on Saturday (June 3) and Sunday (June 4) for the Inspector General's Cup Cycling Championship 2023 to take place.
George Town OCPD Asst Comm Soffian Santong said the tournament, which will be held from June 1 to 4, involves 17 teams and a total of 204 participants from the police.
The roads involved in the northeast district are Padang Kota Lama , Lebuh Light, Jalan Masjid Kapitan Keling, Lebuh Farquhar, Jalan Sultan Ahmad Shah, Jalan Larut, Jalan Burma, Jalan Pangkor and Jalan Kelawai. "Other roads involved are Tanjong Tokong, Jalan Batu Feringghi, Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu, Jalan Pengkalan Weld and Jalan Tun Syed Syeh Barakbah.
"In the southwest district, the roads involved are Jalan Teluk Bahang, Jalan Sungai Rusa, Jalan Baru, Jalan Kampung Terang, Jalan Balik Pulau, Jalan Teluk Kumbar, Jalan Permatang Pasir and Lebuhraya Tun Dr Lim Chong Eu," he said.Road users are urged to check social media posts for further updates (
