Several police officers were hurt while attempting to break up a large crowd in North Philadelphia early Sunday morning.
According to police, around 500 people had gathered with their vehicles on the 1300 block of Broad Street around 1:45 a.m. and were blocking the roadway, As police arrived and then worked to disperse the crowd, officials said that an officer was struck by a vehicle, “causing a break on his ankle.” He was taken to Jefferson University Hospital where he was treated, police said.Police said that a “couple of officers sustained injuries” during the incident but were treated and released.If you purchase a product or register for an account through one of the links on our site, we may receive compensation.
