Khanyiso Mayo's second-half brace secured a 3-1 DStv Premiership victory for Cape Town City in the iKapa derby against Cape Town Spurs at Cape Town Stadium on Saturday.
Eric Tinkler's City climbed five places to eighth in the league standings, while Shaun Bartlett's Spurs suffered their seventh consecutive loss and remained at the bottom of the table.
While Spurs had the early lead, City quickly found their groove, dominating possession and consistently challenging a wobbly Spurs defence. In the build-up to the 70th minute, Cape Town City picked up their pace and managed to seize the lead thanks to an astute play by Mayo.
