Setinggan di Sabah: '285 koloni, 33,566 rumah, 130,397 penduduk'

Kota Kinabalu: Jawatankuasa Induk Menangani Setinggan telah mengenal pasti bahawa secara keseluruhan terdapat sebanyak 285 koloni setinggan di seluruh Sabah, melibatkan 33,566 buah rumah dan 130,397 penduduk.

Timbalan Ketua Menteri II, Datuk Seri Dr. Joachim Gunsalam yang telah dilantik oleh Kabinet Negeri sebagai Pengerusi jawatankuasa ini berlata, hanya tiga daerah iaitu Ranau, Kota Belud dan Tuaran yang tidak mempunyai koloni setinggan. Beliau menyarankan setiap daerah mempunyai pelan daerah bagi menangani setinggan-setinggan ini.

“Saya ingin melihat lebih banyak daerah/Pihak Berkuasa Tempatan yang sifar setinggan. Daerah/PBT yang mempunyai banyak koloni setinggan hendaklah mencapai penurunan yang ketara menjelang akhir tahun 2025,” kata Dr. Joachim yang juga Menteri Kerajaan Tempatan dan Perumahan.
