Kota Kinabalu: Sabah Electricity Sdn Bhd (SESB) bakal melaksanakan pemasangan sistem penyimpanan tenaga melalui bateri berkapasiti 100MW sebagai langkah jangka pendek bagi mengatasi masalah catuan bekalan elektrik di Sabah.
Pengerusinya, Datuk Seri Wilfred Madius Tangau, memaklumkan, perkara itu telahpun diluluskan oleh Suruhanjaya Tenaga Malaysia. "Kami di SESB berharap Mesyuarat Jawatankuasa Perancangan dan Pelaksanaan Pembekalan Elektrik dan Tarif akan mempertimbangkan keputusan ST tersebut secara positif demi kebaikan dan kesejahteraan bersama," kata beliau dalam kenyataan media.
Ahli parlimen Tuaran itu juga berkata Sabah perlu mencontohi sistem tata kelola bekalan tenaga elektrik Kerajaan Persekutuan dan Wilayah Sarawak apabila urus tadbir diserahkan kepada kerajaan negeri pada tahun hadapan.
