Mitchell Walsh who was involved in the death of schoolgirl Jess Meehan two decades ago is being extradited to Perth after he allegedly skipped bail on fresh drink driving-related charges.
"Subsequent enquiries revealed he had fled to New South Wales to avoid a further term of imprisonment, the superintendent said.Acting Superintendent Wilson alleged Walsh went to great lengths to "reduce his digital footprint" by including not using his phone, credit cards or using social media profiles.
Today, New South Wales police swooped on Walsh in the Western Sydney suburb of Mount Druitt where he was arrested. He is being extradited to Perth and is expected to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court tomorrow to face the 2022 charges."This man with his history has shown a complete lack of remorse for his behaviour, and has shown a significant lack of respect for our laws and for the safety of our motoring public," Superintendent Walsh said.
"Community safety is our utmost priority and we will not tolerate people who place the lives of our motoring public at risk."
