Lieutenant Colonel Nkosikhona Hadebe is being cross-examined in the Pretoria High Court on Tuesday.
JOHANNESBURG - The paperwork by a police officer who conducted a pointing out exercise with one of the accused has come under scrutiny in the Senzo Meyiwa trial.Sibiya and four others stand accused of the 2014 murder of the Bafana Bafana captain.
The lawyer for accused number one and two - advocate Thulani Mngomezulu - has questioned Hadebe about the inaccuracies in the pro forma statement that he completed on the day he took Sibiya pointing out. He has highlighted all the mistakes in Hadebe’s statement and has used this to cast doubt on his experience.
"Your first mistake was you said you recieved the information on the 4th of May, that was the first mistake and you wanted to correct it under oath."As advocate Charles Mnisi for the third accused began cross-examination, it was established that Hadebe had deposed of a statement that the State had not handed over.Judge Ratha Mokgoatlheng ruled that the court adjourn for two hours to allow the defence time to read the statement and consult.
