Tension in Washington over the looming debt ceiling and lack of regulations for Supreme Court justices.

FAIRBANKS, Alaska - With a deadline nearing, raising the debt ceiling has been on the minds of many in Washington.

However, House Speaker Kevin McCarthy’s plans for dealing with the debt ceiling are in conflict with actions that are already underway. McCarthy has proposed raising the debt ceiling by 1.5 trillion dollars. This plan also eliminates funds for programs that the Biden administration is working on or has already enacted ... among other cuts.It is imperative that there be actual conversations between the president and the speaker of the house about how we address this looming debt ceiling.

Senator Murkowski also spoke on the discomfort and tension caused by the lack of regulations for the Supreme Court justices.
