The Senate on Wednesday adopted a resolution expressing its sympathy and condolences following the death of Nueva Vizcaya Governor Carlos Padilla earlier this month.

During the plenary session, Senator Cynthia Villar sponsored Senate Resolution No. 610, which took into consideration SR Nos. 615 and 646.Villar, in her speech, said the late Nacionalista Party stalwart was highly regarded by his colleagues and constituents and was known for his “warm, quiet dignity and genuine dedication to public service.

"She also described Padilla as a “true statesman” who worked towards the country’s progress and improvement, especially on programs on education, infrastructure, sustainable livelihood, agri-fishery development, and clean energy, among others.“His relentless efforts to improve the lives of the people of Nueva Vizcaya have left an indelible mark on the province, solidifying his legacy of service and dedication,” the senator said.
