Nadine Arslanian was not charged in the fatal crash in New Jersey while she was dating Sen. Robert Menenedez

The nature of the crash was not disclosed by prosecutors, who described it simply as an “accident” in the indictment. The previously unreported crash adds new detail to explosive allegations of corruption leveled in the federal indictment and made public last month. In the document, prosecutors allege Nadine Arslanian — who was dating Menendez at the time of the 2018 crash — needed a car after an unspecified “accident.”
In return, Uribe and another associate, Wael Hana, bought Arslanian Menendez a new Mercedes-Benz C-300 convertible worth more than $60,000 in February 2019, according to federal authorities.
