Sen. Cory Booker just took the stage in South Carolina -- where CNN's Don Lemon teased him about being a vegan in a region that loves it BBQ.
The event comes right before a big fundraising push and candidates"will have to show their financial strength in this race," he said.In just a few moments, Democratic Sen. Cory Booker will take the stage at the Stevenson Auditorium in Orangeburg, South Carolina, and answer questions from voters.Earlier tonight, Orangeburg residents began lining up at least four hours before the show. Some guests said they heard about the event today and hoped to get tickets.
Nathaniel has political ambitions of his own. He said he running for Congress and is looking to unseat Republican Rep. Joe Wilson, who represents South Carolina's 2nd congressional district.Cathie Frederick said she looking forward to hear Sen. Cory Booker's position on public education. She said she likes California Sen. Kamala Harris and Booker, but she worries about his position on charter schools.
"We definitely need to keep Obamacare," said Irick, who worked more than 40 years in education."We meet so many families that don't have health insurance that need that care."
