“No one cares about what you're doing. It's about who I am. Being okay with where I am.'
On October 10, Selena shared the first full-length trailer for the project. “Just be who you are, Selena,” says the star in a voice-over as we see a montage of clips of her at different ages, performing, and with friends. “No one cares about what you're doing. It's about who I am. Being okay with where I am. I am grateful to be alive.”
Through soundbites and clips, the trailer reveals that the documentary won't shy away from anything Selena has experienced and overcome: including her lupus, depression, and anxiety diagnoses. Selena is seen in the trailer having heart-to-hearts about her insecurities, the pressures of fame, and the tolls her mental health has taken on her life.
“My whole life since I was a kid I've been working,” she says through tears at one point in the trailer. “And I don't wanna be like super famous… but I do know that if I'm here I have to use that for good.”will be released on November 4, 2022 on AppleTV+, and we're looking forward to seeing more of Selena's world through her own empowered perspective.
