KLANG: The Selangor flag will be flown half mast on Wednesday (May 22) and Thursday (May 23) as a mark of respect for former Pahang Sultan Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah, who passed away earlier on Wednesday.
Selangor Mentri Besar, Amirudin Shari, said in a statement that this was in line with Selangor Ruler Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah's directive.
“Our condolences to the Yang di-Pertuan Agong and the people of Pahang over the demise of Paduka Ayahanda Sultan Ahmad Shah Al-Musta’in Billah. "May his soul receive a good closure in life , showered with Allah's blessings and be placed in heaven blissfully.Sultan Ahmad Shah, 88, had been unwell in recent months, which saw him abdicating on January 15 to make way for his eldest son, Al-Sultan Abdullah to ascend the Pahang throne.
