NSTsports Selangor to compete in MeizhouHakka Cup in China
Although the cities of Meizhou and Wuhan are about 1,000km apart, the airborne virus has spread to various parts of China, killing 17 people so far and infecting more than 570. It has also spread to at least six other countries.
It is understood that FAS, having signed a contract with the event organiser, will not withdraw from the Meizhou competition out of respect and avoid other complications. “When we realised that we’ll be in a high risk zone, we called a doctor from Universiti Malaya Medical Centre to brief our officials and players about the Wuhan virus, the symptoms and precautions.”
