KLANG: Selangor residents have been advised to make good use of the state government’s Saring Selangor 2023 programme to check their health status.
Selangor’s executive councillor for public health Dr Siti Mariah Mahmud said in a statement that the state government has targeted 31,000 people to benefit from the programme.
According to Dr Siti Mariah, the Saring Selangor programme for 2023 offered five categories for screening - the first being non-communicable diseases like heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure and kidney problems.The three other categories were eye-related problems followed by teeth and ear-related issues.
“For 2023, the state government has widened the service scope to three additional categories which are ear screening, teeth checking as well as physiotherapy services," said Dr Siti Mariah. “Every applicant has to fill up a screening form during the registration so that their background and risk factors can be identified," said Dr Siti Mariah.
