SHAH ALAM: Selangor police recorded a 1,528-case reduction in the crime index last year, says Comm Noor Azam Jamaludin.
The Selangor police chief said a total of 19,810 cases were recorded last year compared to 21,338 cases in 2018."We also opened 33,977 Investigation Papers , of which 18,574 have been prosecuted," he told a press conference at the state police headquarters on Tuesday .
Comm Noor Azam said the state Commercial Crimes Investigation Department recorded 2,162 cases involving more than RM71mil worth of losses last year. On another matter, he said that the Selangor police received 33 calls on bomb discoveries and threats in 2019. "Our Bomb Unit performed their duties admirably in destroying the bombs," he said adding that not more that five of the total calls were prank calls.
