The book description explains why Levine was chosen to be a part of the series. According to the publishing house's website, they wanted to feature"women who spoke up against all odds." Levine said last July on MSNBC that the U.S. should “support, affirm and empower” children to get"gender affirmation treatment," including puberty blockers and sex reassignment surgery in their state.
“I have no regrets because if I had transitioned when I was young then I wouldn’t have my children. I can’t imagine a life without my children,” said Levine. In a video from the May 27 presentation before the Federation of State Medical Boards in New Orleans, Levine urged for social media platforms to censor “misinformation” to protect the “health equity of sexual and gender minorities.”
