PUTRAJAYA: The second mission to evacuate Malaysians from Wuhan in China will go on, despite the uncertain status of the Malaysian government.
A spokesman from the National Anti-Disaster Agency confirmed that the AirAsia special flight arranged to rescue the Malaysians will fly as scheduled.Last week, former Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail said about 75 Malaysians, as well as their spouses and children will be brought back for this trip.
As soon as the flight lands at KLIA, the passengers will be taken to the Air Disaster Unit building, where they will go through a health screening. On Feb 4, Malaysia flew 107 people home from Wuhan, the city in Hubei province, which is the epicentre of the Covid-19 coronavirus.
