What was once the site of several high-profile cases of assault and murder is reopening with a new look.

Since then, the park has undergone a makeover and improvements with the aim of drawing people to the green space on Third Avenue, whether it’s to eat lunch, gather with friends, or just take a break from your workday.

The park’s reopening will be celebrated at 10 a.m. when Seattle Mayor Bruce Harrell will join other community leaders to mark the milestone. The celebration will last all day and feature live music, lawn games, buskers, food trucks, and activities. Going forward, Seattle Parks and Recreation will periodically bring games, food trucks, concerts, and art installations to the park to help it remain a welcoming place that people want to visit.©2023 Cox Media Group
