The Everton captain paid tribute to the club's chairman after he passed away on Tuesday.
Seamus Coleman has paid a touching tribute to Bill Kenwright after the Everton chairman passed away on Tuesday at the age of 78.Born in Liverpool in 1945, the esteemed theatre and film producer became involved in football in 1989 when he became a director at the club. He succeeded Sir Phillip Carter as chairman in 2004, a role which he held until his death.News of Kenwright's death was confirmed on Tuesday in a statement released by his family.
Club captain Coleman enjoyed a close relationship with Kenwright since his move to Everton in 2009 and laid a wreath in memory of the deceased chairman alongside manager Sean Dyche outside Goodison Park on Wednesday. Speaking with Sky Sports, Coleman said: "He meant an awful lot. He was so important in my time here at Everton.
"Going away from the chairman part - he was just a good man who absolutely idolised Everton Football Club. "He had a very special way of making his players feel important, whether that be a big hug when he sees you or a text message after a game, to numerous players."He will be so missed by us all. We just want to remember him, and all the good times."
