Sime Darby Plantations says Justine Nolan will help the group 'navigates through some current issues'. FMTNews SimeDarbyPlantation
Sime Darby Plantations says it is committed to transparent disclosure of its human rights assessment commission’s findings, as well as any remediation measures.
The appointment comes a week after Canada had announced that it was investigating allegations of forced labour in Malaysia’s palm oil and rubber glove industries. SDP said prior to joining UNSW in 2004, Nolan served as the director of the Business and Human Rights programme at the Lawyers Committee for Human Rights in the United States of America.
“She will also assist in reviewing any proposed remediation plans recommended for implementation by Impactt,” said SDP.
