SINCE its inception 26 years ago, the Star Education Fund has benefitted 4,172 underserved and bright Malaysian students, with a value of RM144.88mil.Star Education Fund manager Susanna Kuan said the success of the fund was largely due to their partners-in-education, some of whom have been on board since its launch on March 24, 1994.
It is without a doubt that the fund, launched by the late Tan Sri Dr Sulaiman Daud, who was the Education Minister at the time, together with its partners-in-education, have changed the lives of many deserving young minds by providing them opportunities to obtain quality education. “The young generation are capable and talented to soar to greater heights and achieve remarkable goals with the right support and guidance.”While good grades are important, she said students need not be straight-A scorers to secure a scholarship as the fund is need-based.
