Scammers take religious teacher, tour agent for nearly RM130,000

Ramli said the 55-year-old woman received a call from someone claiming to be a Touch ’n Go officer in Kuala Lumpur, who said the woman had a bill six months in arrears. “The victim then revealed her 14-digit account number, bank card information and filled in banking information in a link provided. In another case, Ramli said a tour agent was taken for at least RM52,000 last Saturday after being duped in a fake part-time job offer on WhatsApp, which promised a return of RM100 for every assignment carried out.
