PETALING JAYA: Star Media Group, which publishes The Star newspaper and online portal, would like to remind the public that its myStarjob team does not use text messages to communicate with users.
It has come to the Group's attention that there are fraudulent messages circulating on WhatsApp and via SMS claiming to be from a"myStarjob HR team".
The messages also include false information from individuals using fake identities to recruit"part-time employees" and conduct so-called"market research surveys". The myStarjob team never issues job offers as it does not have a separate human resource team for recruitment, and there is no market research survey activity at present.
The Group would also like to reiterate that its myStarjob team would never contact anyone through telephone calls or text messages, and warns the public not to fall for such scams.Thus, the public is advised to stay alert when receiving any unsolicited telephone calls or text messages purportedly from myStarjob.com - please do not respond to any such unsolicited contact.
Exercise due caution and check with myStarjob.com at 03-7967 1308 to ascertain the identity of the unknown third party contact to avoid being cheated by scammers.
