The Securities Commission Malaysia has announced SARANA, an alternative financing scheme provided by nine SC-registered peer-to-peer financing platform operators under the government e-procurement system. Effective immediately, SARANA aims to address the working capital needs of micro, small and medium enterprises and small contractors involved in government contracts for supplies, services, or works.Invoice financing: To support cash flow after contract delivery.
Since the SC introduced the P2P regulatory framework in 2016, these platforms have raised US$1.78 billion as of 30 September 2024, playing a crucial role in supporting locally incorporated businesses.By Sustainability Matters July 29, 2024
