MIRI: Sarawak is sending security reinforcements to its borders with Sabah and Kalimantan, Indonesia to tighten cross-border movement of people and vehicles.
The Sarawak disaster relief management committee said this was in light of the surge in imported Covid-19 positive infections in the state."Border reinforcements are being arranged as security needs to be increased considerably along our borders with Sabah and Kalimantan.
"The border enforcement units are being beefed up, not just at immigration entry points but also to plug hidden routes and entry points."Out of these, 24 cases have a history of travel to Sabah," the committee said.At the border with Kalimantan, Sarawak's main entry points are Bakelalan, Bario , Tebedu and Serikin .Article type: metered
