Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari hailed Sarawak 's RM14.2 billion income as a testament to the state's strong economic performance. Speaking at the United Chinese Association Sibu Division's Chinese New Year celebration, Abang Johari highlighted Sarawak 's ranking among Malaysia's top five states in terms of economic performance last year.
He emphasized Sarawak's position as the fourth-largest exporter in the country, attributing this success to the ongoing growth and strength of the state's economy. Furthermore, Abang Johari revealed that Sarawak is in discussions with Fudan University in China to establish a joint medical faculty. This collaboration will focus on integrating both Western and Eastern medicine, capitalizing on China's renowned expertise in Eastern medicine. He pointed out Sarawak's abundant biodiversity resources, which can be leveraged to advance the field of Eastern medicine. The Premier also announced his upcoming invitation to speak at the Yusuf Ishak Institute in Singapore on February 10th. His talk will center on Sarawak's economy and the future of renewable energy
