The TRC 5200 military radio is 100% locally designed and manufactured in Malaysia.

Dr Mahathir Mohamad receives a TRC 5200 replica from Sapura Energy CEO Shahril Shamsuddin.

The TRC 5200 was launched by Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who in 1997, during his first stint as prime minister, also launched Sapura’s first-generation military radio, the TRC 5102. He added that the TRC 5200, which is 100% locally designed and developed, is the product of Sapura’s efforts over the past 20 years, which has seen it spending over US$100 million on research and development.
